At Empire Veterinary Clinic we offer CO2 laser surgery for the benefits that it offers your companion. The laser beam cuts the tissue without touching it. There are many benefits from this.
The laser is an invisible beam of light that is generated and will vaporize skin and soft tissue.

Uses of the laser

To cut the skin and soft tissue in surgery
To remove small warts and skin tags with only local anesthesia. This allows us to remove small skin masses on older animals without general anesthesia.

The laser seals the small nerve endings therefore there is less pain after surgery.
The laser seals the small blood vessels as it cuts and there is little to no bleeding at the incision site.
The laser cuts without crushing or tearing so there is less swelling postoperatively
The laser sterilizes as it cuts so there is less chance of infection.

Because of the sealing of the blood vessels it may take a little longer to heal the incision line but it is not significant.

At Empire Veterinary clinic the surgery that we have seen the greatest decrease in pain and complications is the cat declaw. The ability to take off warts and skin tags with only a local anesthetic significantly decreases the risk and the price of that procedure.
